Declaration of IWI mission
The objective of IWI is to train wellness experts, through its EU-conform training system, in a way that will effectively assist them in improving the health and fitness-level of the Hungarian and Central European population. The economic significance of wellness is contributed to by the concept of preventive fitness lifestyle, worksite wellness and health tourism. IWI makes every effort to train professionals prepared to take up the above tasks, with practical, real-life knowledge. IWI offers to impart this special intelligence during postgraduate and educational courses with the help of material brought together by the research team of IWI. The IWI lifestyle programs approach the public with information on wellness, promoting more health conscience lifestyle improvements. A further objective of IWI is to indirectly participate in creating new opportunities and actively promoting the 'health- and fitness industry' by establishing market standards of the wellness concept by introducing novel types of service and assisting in the convergence of request and supply.
History of IWI The IWI Education Center has had a prominent role in the Hungarian wellness market since owner and CEO László Zopcsák started the center in 2000.
After obtaining the European license, took up the name IWI Europe Education Center. Certificates issued by IWI Ltd are both nationally and internationally acknowledged.
Timeline of important events
In 2000
- Developed and implemented the first Hungarian personal trainer postgraduate course.
- Established cooperation with TF (P.E. University of Hungary) Postgraduate Institute.
- Participated in the Foundation and formation of the Hungarian Wellness Institute.
In 2003
- Organized the first wellness consultant course in the Zala region through a tender issued by the Balaton Development Board.
- Participated in the drafting of the criteria-system for hotel wellness (in effect: 54/2003. (VIII.29.) GKM order and I/F annex).
- Signed a contract of cooperation with the Hungarian Committee of Physiotherapists.
In 2004
- Programs and institutes become accredited (FAT, OM, ESZTB).
- Organized sports conferences in 2004-2005.
- Completed nationwide lifestyle roadshow.
- Participated in the European Conference of Sports Sciences in Salzburg.
- Launched the first Wellness and Spa Manager course in Hungary.
- Launched OKJ courses.
In 2005
- Became a member of the Hungarian Hotel Alliance Institute.
- Became a member of the Pannon Thermal Cluster.
- Cooperated in wellness training with the Institute of Tourism (BGF KVIFK) and the Heller Farkas College of Tourism.
- Participated in the National Wellness Institute Conference in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, USA (Worksite Wellness).
- Introduced and integrated the Worksite Wellness concept into course material.
In 2006
- Participated in the conference of IDEA in New York (Personal Training).
In 2007
- Launched the professional workshop of IWI, the first lifestyle studio based on fitness therapy and personal training in Hungary.
- Significantly expanded the scope of trainings, by introducing aerobics workshops, fitness therapy, as well as a separate Yoga training.
In 2008
- In March IWI participated in an official state delegation in Russia to introduce Wellness education in Moscow's SPA Fair.
- IWI launched the first wellness education programme in Russia and Ukraina.
- Presently IWI offers more than 30 programmes including courses in English and Russian.
- New courses developed and introduced by IWI became officially recognised by the state's Vocational Further Learning System (OKJ) in May. These courses are: Wellness Consultant, Personal Trainer, Fitness Instructor, Hotel Animator.
